"Impasse", the Galton and Simpson Playhouse remake with Mitchell & Webb, which I recorded earlier this year, is being repeated tonight at 10.30pm
on BBC Radio 2.
Clive Mantle and Helen Lederer are also in it - our first time back together on radio since the heady days of the live "In One Ear" (1983-6)

"Son of Cliche" on 7

"Son of Cliche", the Sony Award winning radio series written by Red Dwarf's Grant & Naylor, which I did with Chris Barrie, Nick Maloney and Peter Brewis back in 1984, has finally made it onto BBC 7. If you're at a loose end it might be worth a listen... well, we thought it was funny at the time (is it really 25 years ago?!?!).

It's on BBCiplayer until Sunday 20th December

Music Hall Guild of Great Britain & America

I am thrilled to have been asked to become an Honorary Patron of The Music Hall Guild of Great Britain and America.

The Guild is a registered charity, originally founded in 1985 by its Artistic Director Adrian Barry and its chairman Neil Morkunas, whose aims are to keep the spirit of Music Hall, Variety, Vaudeville and Pantomime alive.
Through research and the collecting of archive material, The Music Hall Guild of Great Britain and America utilises this information to stage educational projects that include travelling exhibitions, professional theatre productions, talks and guided tours, reminiscence projects for the elderly, as well as educational projects for young people.
The Music Hall Guild of Great Britain and America cares, maintains, restores and erects memorials to Music Hall performers and other members of the theatrical profession with the aim of commemorating their contribution to the world of entertainment which has helped to shape the cultural history of entertainment as we know it.

Son of Cliche

I can't believe it's 25 years since Chris Barrie, Nick Maloney and I performed in Son of Cliche. Written by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor, produced by Alan Nixon, we did three series and picked up a Sony award. The first series was recorded at the Gate at The Latchmere Theatre and then we moved into The Paris Studios. Thanks to Alan for this picture. Happy Memories.

(Nick "See-thru Kid" Wilton, Nick "Asso" Maloney and Chris "Massive" Barrie)

Hoping we can all get together later in the month

"Chimps" reviews

"Nick Wilton, round and ingratiating, with clothes from a 1950s gents' outfitter...
is superb as Lawrence, confronting his own failure and disillusion while holding on to a job he needs desperately."

News Blog

Hello there. This is a new blog I've set up so that I can post news when I'm away from home. Hopefully I'll post reviews from the play, "Chimps", which I'm performing in at the moment, early next week (if they're any good of course)
Until then
Bye for Now,
Nick
